Comments: i purchased this reel on sale , I'm a Diawa man but always wanted to see what all the hype was about with the shimano reels so like i said i bought it on sale for $75 and put it on a flacon mh rod I've used texas rig and chatterbait with it and it's a solid really nice reel ounce you learn how to work the braking system, i set my reel with only two brakes on and then tuned the knob and very seldom backlash but like i said it's a really good reel just keep an eye out and buy on sale or it's worth $100 but I'm on a budget.

Comments: Shimano did a great job upgrading the slx. I have both the original slx and the slx A and I can say for sure that there is a difference in the smoothness if the slx A. It is an absolute workhorse.

Comments: Solid upgrade to the slx the description is misleading tho says there's an external adjustment for the reel like the other reels in the slx series but there is not tho. Don't let that be a deal breaker tho it cast and reels smooth. For 100 bucks it's a steal. I will be adding more of these reels to my arsenal in the future.
