Anytime bass are up shallow, the taunting clatter of a buzzbait has the potential to produce a big bite - and the fall is a great time to put that theory to the test. Throughout this season, bass will typically start to key in on large schools of baitfish, rather than a singular target. While this is great for fishing, it can lead to frustration when using a single hook bait, like a buzzbait. Oftentimes, it results in heart-stopping blow-ups followed by heart-breaking results.
"The skirtless buzzbait makes a big difference. I had a problem with fish (big fish) headshotting the bait, eating the blades...taking the skirt off increased how many fish actually hooked up versus just blowing the bait out of the water." - Doug, TW Staff
