Overview

Built using flax cellulose microfibrils that create the structure of plant walls, the Megabass Orochi X10 Casting Rods emerge as a viable carbon fiber alternative in select applications due to their superior damping and shock-absorbing characteristics. Reinforced with an X10 finishing wrap that extends from the rear grip to the mid-section, the proprietary organic fibers of the X10 exhibit several unique characteristics that provide a distinct advantage.

First, they are lighter than their carbon counterparts. Secondly, the organic material suppresses the blank's unwanted axial shake to reduce extraneous “noise” and channel key information to the angler’s hands for a quicker blank recovery and reduced angler fatigue. Lastly, X10 is highly shock-absorbent which adds a protective layer to shield the blank’s carbon fiber core from external stressors.

Leveraging the ultra-lightweight carbon graphite of the DESTROYER series, each blank is produced with a special composite method to deliver the kind of sharp sensitivity and crisp control that has led to legendary outperformance. Wrapped around this high-performance core coupled with superior damping control, the Megabass Orochi X10 Casting Rods enable a more direct and intuitive connection between angler and equipment that’s a joy to experience.

- IAS Reel Seat
Hand-carved by Yuki Ito, the IAS reel seat took shape through careful analysis of the reel-palming grips of top professionals. A study in ergonomic minimalism, the forming process leaves only the necessary tactile surfaces to support intuitive grip and feel. This lightweight, reductionist approach results in a pure competition-spec reel seat that embodies confident operability.

- ITS Handle Type
Built for power fishing, the sculpted design and long trigger provide an overwhelming grip for big bait and heavy cover applications. Whether one or two-finger casting or utilizing a full-palm retrieve, ITS is designed to accommodate various grip styles with confidence.

- Orochi Aluminum Machine-Cut Hood
The head-locking mechanism is machine-cut from a solid block of high-grade aluminum, delivering uncompromising strength and rigidity. Machining expertise has enabled a lightweight, high-strength design that's finished with weight-saving cutouts and shallow knurling for enhanced grip.

- OROCHI X10 Original Tight Threading
The masterful threadwork of the OROCHI X10 is a functional artistry unique to Megabass. Elegant tourmaline-green base threads made of fine, semi-transparent fibers are finished with lustrous and tough monofilament Air Force Scuro thread accents to create an exceedingly tight and secure guide threading.

Rapid ViperRapid Viper for shallow crank baits is MONEY. So crisp and lightweight. So sensitive. Paired with a 70 size reel you will be burning the bank in complete bliss. Unbelievable rod. Thanks Megabass

Anaconda comes in two piecesThe rod came in two pieces and has to be glued together. I don't like that. I buy one piece rods and if you're gluing it it's not a one piece rod.

Great RodI purchased this Bearing down model for Free rigs and Texas rigs and it’s the most sensitive rod I own. Very lightweight with plenty of backbone. Spend the money and get yourself this beauty.

Great Rod for Inshore SaltwaterPicked the 7’10” Anaconda. Cosmetically the rod is a work of art just like all other Megabass rods. Finish is excellent. Reel seat feels good in the hands. Rod is sensitive enough to feel tiny nibbbles, structure and even when the fish farts. I normally fish this rod using big hammer swimbaits for sandbass and calico bass. Took the rod to catalina island in search of larger game. Nice soft tip that allows you to cast bait easily. Ended up hooking up on a 40 lb Yellowtail using a Calcutta conquest 400 and 20 lb seaguar fluorocarbon as a leader. Fish ate a squid on a homemade leadhead with a gamakatsu hook. The rod hand plenty of backbone to really pull on the fish. Near the end of the fight had to pull hard as a seal was eyeing the fish but we managed to get it to gaff. I was surprised just how hard you can pull on this rod. Worked great.

Not top of the line but solidGot the bandersnatch. Light, soft tip and responsive. Other choice was a mad bull but this was a little cheaper. A tad heavier than the jdm destroyers but not by much. Zenon is also lighter but I wanted the softer tip for swimbaits. Satisfied
