Overview

Designed to take the guesswork out of selecting the best rod for a specific application, the Daiwa Tatula Elite Casting Rods are a true signature series where Daiwa pros were asked to create rods with the ideal action to accomplish their favorite techniques. Through the use of Daiwa’s proprietary nano resin technology, each SVF NanoPlus blank is 15% lighter than previous generations and prevents rod twist with X45 BIAS wrapping that improves casting distance and accuracy.

Equipped with Fuji Alconite guides for superior line management and durability, the new Daiwa Tatula Elite Casting Rods have upgraded graphite Air Sensor reel seats to greatly enhance sensitivity and subtle bite detection. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty and embossed with a sleek 3D Tatula logo, the Daiwa Tatula Elite Casting Rods are finished with custom cork or EVA handle types based on the input of each angler.

**Please Note: Handle types are selected by each Daiwa Pro and vary based on the model option. Click the drop-down to confirm the handle type before making your purchase.**

Short handle7'4" Randy Howell model for chatterbaits. Works well, BUT, the handle is too short (only 14"). Makes long casts with 2 hands difficult, and is fatiguing to fish all day. Otherwise, nice rod.

Long Review but definitely read! This is the best series of rods that I have ever found. So nice and for under $200 a rod they perform way better than that. They are so nice. Here is some of the rods I have used. the 6'9 Md Lt Jerkbait rod is way to light for jerkabaits in my opinion. A standard 110 felt to much for the rod. 7'3 Md Heavy All Purpose is an amazing all around rod. Like it seriously can do anything. The 7'5 Md Hvy is an outstading weightless plastic rod. Along with open hook swimbaits, swimjig, and football jig rod. The 7'5 Hvy Jig rod is the best jig rod I have ever felt. It has such a perfect action and if you fish jigs you have to have this rod. The 7'6 Md Hvy big worm rod is not a medium heavy. This is the only daiwa rod that I have ever found that is mislabeled. It is a Heavy/fast. This is such an amazing frog rod its unbelievable. It has a slightly softer tip which I love for frogs. But hits backbone almost instantly which is so perfect for frog rods. Overall when I am looking for a new rod. This is the first line that I go and look at. And almost every single time I end up buying a rod from this line. They are my favorite rods ever and I will continue to run them forever.

The best budget rods for $200I have the multi-purpose 73MHF and the flipping 76HF. Both rods are phenomenal at their price point. These new line-up of Tatula Elite rods will not disappoint! 73MHF Multi-Purpose: As the name implies it’s a multi-purpose rod and it does what it intends too! You can throw EVERYTHING on this rod. I’ve used 1oz casting spoon and it casts really well. Spinnerbait/chatter bait is awesome on this rod as you can differentiate between bites/rocks/lay-downs/grass. Bottom contact is amazing too! You will feel every rock/lay down/grass/bite. Any treble hook application on this rod is very nice since the rod isn’t too stiff. The tip section of the rod allows you to fight the fish and bomb your lures out. What makes this rod stand out from other multi-purpose rod is the sensitive, tip, and backbone at this price. This rod is a true multi-purpose rod! 76HF Flipping: I bought this rod solely for Carolina-rig and it did not disappoint. The lure rating is spot on! I’ve tried 2oz weight and had no issues. Bottom contact sensitivity is shocking at this price. The sensitive is very crisp and you can distinguish a bite from rocks/laydowns/grass. The rod isn’t too soft or stiff for single hook applications. What makes this rod REALLY GOOD is how light it is. I’ve felt other rods at this rating and they are much heavier. I believe this rod is also good for frogging because of the tip/backbone/action. The tip is soft enough to allow you to twitch/pop your frog. The back bone is way more than enough to haul big mammas in. The action is fast enough for hooksets. For $200 you’re getting more than it’s worth.

Lives up to 12oz ratingI bought the 8' heavy swimbait rod last year. I wanted a rod that could do it all. I wanted the G. Loomis 966 but it's always out of stock. So after watching Ish YouTube video about the new rod, I thought this would be a great rod for treble hook and jig hook baits. But like a person stated below, this thing is a broom stick. I don't see how anyone could use it for the average size glide. Way too stiff. Now for jig hook baits, it works amazingly well. I throw mostly bacca burrito and it hooks them very well. No issue grinding them back to the bank/boat.

One of my go to rodsI own the 610 medium rod and I absolutely love it. It’s incredibly light but powerful and I’ll be getting another one.

ITS A BROOMSTICK/MISLEADI picked up the 8 foot swimbait model, and paired it with a Tatula 300. Nice feeling combo, used it for a couple of days, and it feels like a pretty good marriage of equipment. I watched Ish's video on the rod stating: " It's not a broomstick, you can even throw a S-Weaver 168 on it." Really? This thing is a tank of a broomstick! I love Daiwa and will continue to buy from them till the day I die, but when they state the rod is rated up to 12 ounces, they weren't kidding! I feel a little mislead by the advertising and should of listened to myself. I was thinking that this rod might be a little "overkill" for what I was looking for and I WAS RIGHT. If u are looking for a beast of a swimbait rod, you may want to consider this model. It's lightweight, and feels good in hand.

Universal RodThe 7’2 MH rod’s lure rating is way off. It says 1/4-1 3/8 oz, but this rod is incredibly whippy casting a 1/2oz chatterbait with a light trailer. Even a 1/2 spinner bait without a trailer almost feels like it’s close to overloading the rod. On a positive note, the grip is incredibly comfortable. I’d definitely recommend this line of rods, but not this specific one.

Comments: Purchased the 6'10" medium for jerkbait( jackall rerange) This rod is rated up to 1.5 oz. So beware of that! A little heavy for a medium, plus its tip heavy. Not heavy but you'll notice it right away. The cork is nice and comfy. Wish it was a little more on the moderate side. But definitely a nice addition to the tatula line up!
