From bass, walleye, and trout to redfish, snook, and speckled trout, the Daiwa Procyon AL LT Spinning Reel delivers a high level of performance that fits the bill nicely for freshwater and inshore applications. Featuring a super lightweight aluminum body, the Daiwa Procyon AL LT Spinning Reel minimizes flex to provide better support on the gears and bearing, allowing for increased torque and power while also allowing for longer life of the gears. It also showcases an air rotor and tubular air bail for increased rigidity and strength, especially at high drag pressures.
Another element of the Daiwa Procyon AL LT Spinning Reel is its DIGIGEAR technology, which is digitally cut gears to reduce weight and create considerably better gear meshing for increased smoothness and gear wear. It also features the Advanced Tournament Drag (ATD) to stop hard pulling fish and a Long Cast ABS spool that decreases resistance on the line for longer more accurate casts. Finished with a machined aluminum handle and rubber knob for better strength and grip, the Daiwa Procyon AL LT Spinning Reel is engineered and manufactured with the needs of today’s angler in mind.-Aluminum Body-DIGIGEAR-Air Rotor-Air Bail-Advanced Tournament Drag (ATD)-Long Cast ABS Spool-Machined Aluminum Screw in Handle*2500D-XH Features T-Bar Power Handle
Comments: This is one of the most underated reels on the market. I have a 2500 size for freshwater paired with an expride and a 4000 for saltwater to use for albies. Its a very ridgid reel and smooth as many other more expensive reels out of the box. This reel stands up to saltwater corrosion well so far and i have been a fan of the smooth and reliable reel during the fall for albies on cape for a few seasons. In my experience if the drag is capable of dealing with albies smootly and effectively than it can deal with any other species easily. At this price point i dont believe there is a better reel on the market.

Comments: Love this reel! After studying all the reels I decided on this in the 2000 size on a daiwa tatula rod. 6lb braid with fluorocarbon leader. Reel is very light but sturdy, can cast small lures very well. Bought for Ned rigs and other light small and largemouth lures. Handles line very well no issues of loading line forward and drag has been working very well with bigger fish. Exactly what I was looking for, by far my favorite reel I own.

Comments: I bought a Daiwa Procyon AL 3000D to try on our guided salmon fishing charters this summer. I was positively impressed -- lightweight, smooth, great drag, solid aluminum feel, stout bail spring. No problems. I spooled it with 30 lb. braid and had guests use it primarily for coho salmon, chum salmon, and pink salmon. A very refined reel at a great price. I liked it so much that I ordered 6 more from Tackle Warehouse during my summer salmon fishing season. I am a happy customer -- very worth the price -- and especially during one of Tackle Warehouse's frequent sales events.

Comments: This reel was a very recent purchase so I've had only the past several weeks to go on. The Procyon was a reel that has been of interest to me for some time and I couldn't resist the deal to buy one when it was so deeply discounted. Procyon has been problem free and as smooth as expected from Daiwa. This reel will remain in my stable of dependable gear for the foreseeable future as it's also a joy to use.

Comments: I have so many rods/reels from low ends to high ends ($40-$900). I recently bought the Daiwa Procyon AL LT 2500D because it was on sale and let me tell you this, it didn't disappoint me one bit at all especially if I was buying it from TW. Though the reel is on the heavier side of the chart, the benefits are much higher due to the aluminum body and tight tolerance. Even though it doesn't come with mag-seal, it wouldn't get rust anyways because it's aluminum. The tolerance and refinement is as good as my Stellas/Exist LT. There might be a pickle in some batches, but I wouldn't hesitate buying 1 again eventhough I have over 80 spinning/baitcast reels. I would pair the Procyon AL LT with a 7' tip heavy rod or a light rod to keep everything balanced. Once again a huge thank you to Tacklewarehouse for always doing such a great job from their customer services to their packaging and shipping!

Comments: Great, great reel. Had this reel for about 6 months now, no complaints whatsoever. Strong, sturdy, and smooth all for a great price. It's worked great for typical finesse applications wacky, dropshot, small swimbaits, etc.

Comments: Recently bought this in the 2000 size to put on a St. Croix Legend Glass 7'2" spinning rod. I've been doing more and more colder weather fishing, and Shad Raps have become a major player in that for me. This reel plus that rod make a great dedicated Shad Rap setup for me. The 2000 size holds a lot of eight pound monofilament or fluorocarbon, so you can get them way out there and make the most of it. The only complaint I have with the reel is that when you flip the bail arm, there's almost no feedback on it. On the bright side, in spite of this it has never tripped randomly on the cast like spinning reels I own. Smooth casting, the drag is great, it's smooth enough for a 180 dollar reel. Has an unjointed handle. Lubing is a little dry from factory, but that's an easy fix. All around a great option if you're doing something specific with it like I am or just for general spinning tackle applications.

Comments: Definitely my go to reel for any type of fishing. Smooth, fast and sturdy. Casting is silky smooth and quiet compared to other reels. Convenient when tightening drag, 1 click makes huge difference, so you don't overturn and pull the hook out or break off. The arm of the reel is very strong so there is no movement in the reel. All over I give this reel an A+ and will definitely buy a few more.

Comments: I dont usually write reviews.. I have been using shimano stradic ci4's for a couple years. When I needed a dedicated ned rig rod I didn't want to spend crazy $$$. So after doing some research I landed on this daiwa. I actually prefer it over my stradics. plan on purchasing more you will not be disappointed.

Comments: Excellent all around spinning reel. Using it for inshore and bass fishing with 20 lb braid and 6-15 lb flouro leaders. Smooth drag and even smoother casting/reeling. Good weight and no flex. I have a CI4+ too and I prefer my new Procyon AL LT 2500 because of the lack of flex despite it being a heavier. I'm slowly converting to all Daiwa spinning reels after seeing the performance and value of this reel and my BG 5000, Exceler LT 1000, and Fuego LT 3000. I can see a Ballistic LT in my near future. From: Michael: Augusta, GA 4/22/21
Comments: One of the smoothest reels I've ever fished with and the drag is great. From medium freshwater to inshore this reel can't be beat. Well worth buying! From: Unknown, Roanoke 4/10/21
Comments: I bought the 4000 size for my popping cork setup. Liked it so much, I decided to get a second one for my other popping cork set up. This reel is SWEET! Crazy smooth and drag to die for. I'm gonna work on some reds!

Comments: I own 18 Daiwa reels of various types (spinning, baitcasting, and spincasting) and was looking forward to adding the Daiwa Procyon AL LT 2500D to my arsenal of reels. However, when I first took the new reel out of the box, installed the handle, and turned it, I could tell right away there was a problem. The brand new reel, without any line installed, either had a bad bearing or a machining error. Understandably unhappy with the performance of the new reel, I contacted Tackle Warehouse and made arrangements to send the new reel back. Tackle Warehouse replaced the reel with another one of the same model within just a few days and I am very happy with the new Daiwa Procyon AL LT reel. Thank you Tackle Warehouse. From: Gerald: Rosedale, Maryland 3/19/21
Comments: I ordered this reel for one specific technic Spybaiting. When I received this reel the first that caught my eye was the sleek design I have to say it has a great appearance. It is also extremely light and it has a butter smooth drag. The mechanics are very smooth as well which will allow me to fish this reel all day and be comfortable. It is an impressive reel. From: Mike: Tyrone Township, MI 2/16/21
Comments: WOW..this is a tiny box for us to type our reviews! Anyways, this is the second reel i bought. I have it paired with the Phenix Maxim Med/Fast 7'3" rod. I love the combo. Unfortunately, I do know this combo will sink, and sink fast. I knew as I watch it go down and down, I was gonna buy the exact same setup. The reel is well priced for me. Smooth, solid, with a reliable drag. I have horked plenty of good bass into my kayak, and all the bass hated it. the reel is good in my hands. cast great. if i had to pick a negative, it would be the line hooking tab along the spool. of all my spinning reels, this one is the most difficult for me to slip that tiny tag into that tab. Maybe it is my clumsy fingers. I dont know. I have an easier time on my Fuego and Battle. All in all, if i sink version 2.0, I will more than likely buy it all over again. I dont need a $200+ spinning reel..yet.From: Unknown: Sonoma, CA 2/3/21
Comments: This is my first Daiwa spinning reel, wish I would have switched over sooner. Smooth as butter and an outstanding drag. Much needed on my main body of water where a spinning reel is in my hand 75% of the time. From: Christian: Atlanta, GA 1/19/21
Comments: I researched the hole TW spinning reel category and decided on the Daiwa Procyon AL LT. It's smooth as silk great drag and the AL body eliminates real seat torque. It's at the upper end of price point I'm willing to pay but worth the spend. I own 5 of these reels. It also balances a 6'10" KS11 Elite Halo rod perfect for drop shot combo. From: Doug: Cataldo, ID 1/18/21
Comments: Just picked this reel up and it's been great so far. It is light super smooth drag I've got 15 or 20 lb braid to a 10 lb leader for drop shots and I can't complain at all. From: Jason: Bremerton, WA 11/2/20Comments:Great reel so far, Ive had it for about a month & used it a few times. Ive landed multiple snook, trout, jacks, ladyfish, etc..
From: Vale - Ellenton, FL 10/23/20
Comments: Awesome reel out of the box, smooth drag, light and strong, but I unfortuanetly had issues with the bail arm and returned it. Hopefully that issue is resolved in the futureFrom: Jason: Wilkes Barre, PA 10/17/20Comments: This reel is amazing for the price. This blows the tatula LT out of the water. The Procyon is a SOLID reel and does not bend or flex when setting the hook like the tatula LT did. This reel also holds MUCH more line and also casts better than any spinner I have used yet. keep in mind I am throwing hallow body frogs on 50lb SS8 V2power pro braid, I cannot imagine what the casting would be like if I downgraded to 40lb. Drag is solid, quieter for sure but solid. Deff worth the price without a doubt! From: J.D: FL 9/28/20
